Dade County Schools recently celebrated a major milestone as three talented members of the Dade County Chorus officially signed to continue their musical journeys at the collegiate level.
Zoie Gibson, Rock Chaney, and Trent Dunn were honored during a special Signing Day event recognizing their acceptance and scholarship awards to prestigious university music programs.
Gibson will attend Shorter University Music Department, where she plans to pursue a degree in music education. Chaney has committed to the UGA Hugh Hodgson School of Music to study music therapy, while Dunn will continue his education in music education at UTC Music.
The ceremony brought together classmates, family members, and faculty to celebrate the students’ achievements and dedication to their craft. A special acknowledgment was given to Mr. Cooper for his role in mentoring and supporting the students throughout their time in the chorus program.
School officials praised the trio not only for their musical talent but also for their commitment and hard work, noting that their success reflects the strength of the Dade County Chorus program.
As they prepare to take the next step in their academic and musical careers, Gibson, Chaney, and Dunn leave behind a lasting legacy of excellence and inspiration for future students.
