Dade County School Board Approves New Principal, Summer Projects and Personnel Report

TRENTON, GA — The Dade County Board of Education approved several key items during its April 27 meeting, including personnel actions, a new elementary school principal, summer campus improvements, and employee supplements.

Superintendent Josh Ingle said Dr. Ryan Bandy has been approved as the new principal of Dade Elementary School. Bandy currently serves as assistant principal at LaFayette Middle School and previously worked as a teacher at Ridgeland High School. His contract with Dade County Schools begins July 1.

The board  approved a major paving project set to begin this summer at Dade County High School and Dade Middle School, along with a smaller section at Dade Elementary. The project will include resurfacing, drainage improvements, and other upgrades across campus.

In addition, employees will receive a one-time supplement. Full-time staff will receive $2,000, while part-time employees will receive $1,000, with most of the funding coming from the state.

Personnel Report

The April 27 personnel report included the hiring of FY27 administration, FY27 certified personnel, Abby Moore, Drew Adams, Maggie Scharff, Kaitlyn Hedden, and Dr. Ryan Bandy.

Theresia Beagles and Paige Kimball are retiring at the end of FY26.

The board also accepted resignations from Alicia Borders, Mary Braun, Kelsey Lee, Ashley Parker, Melanie Weathers, Amanda Steele, Paige Whitaker, Cornelia Jones, Catherine Massey, and Lori Case.

Kathy Hiland was approved for a transfer within the school system.
