Pearl Jam's Eddie Vedder and his 17-year-old daughter, Olivia Vedder, are both featured on the soundtrack to actor/director Sean Penn's film Flag Day. The film and soundtrack album drop on Friday (August 20th) and also features Glen Hansard and Cat Power's Chan Marshall.

The video for the Vedder's team-up with Glen Hansard, "My Father's Daughter," has already been released and is one of two songs Olivia Vedder has contributed to for the film.

Variety reported, "Flag Day” is based on Jennifer Vogel's book Flim-Flam Man: The True Story Of My Father’s Counterfeit Life and stars Penn alongside his children Dylan and Hopper. (Eddie) Vedder previously wrote an entire album of original music for the soundtrack to Penn’s 2007 film adaptation of Jon Krakauer's book Into The Wild, winning the best original song award at the Golden Globes for the song 'Guaranteed.'"

A while back, we asked Sean Penn whether he thinks that being a director ever interferes with acting under someone else's direction: ["I think, if anything, if you've directed, more often than not it shows you the value of not letting your mind drift into crossing those lines when you're an actor and you're working in a situation like this where there's a particularly high level of trust in your director. If anything, the value is in knowing how to stay out of the way of that process."] SOUNDCUE (:16 OC: . . . of that process)
