Walker County man, John Robert Wells, is wanted for shooting his wife Thursday.
Wells allegedly shot his wife on Thursday in the 14000 block of East Highway 136 in Lafayette, Georgia.
According to the Walker County Sheriff’s office, as deputies arrived at the scene, Wells fled into a wooded area nearby. WCSO deputies and Georgia State Patrol’s aviation unit searched a large radius for Wells until dark.
Wells remains at large.
Wells is charged with two counts of aggravated assault for the incident on Thursday, and has an additional outstanding warrant for the charge of aggravated assault in an unrelated incident two weeks ago.
According to WCSO, Wells is 5′ 8″, 170lbs and is considered armed and dangerous. If you see Wells, do not approach him but call Walker County Dispatch at 911 or (706) 375-7810 immediately.
