Strong First Day of Advance Voting in Dade County
Advance voting is underway for the November 3 election, and Dade County opened the voting period with one of its strongest first-day turnouts on record.
Around 250 voters cast ballots Tuesday as Dade County residents began making their choices in the 2026 General Election.
Advance voting continues through Friday, October 30. Dade County voters will also have two opportunities to cast ballots on Saturdays, October 17 and October 24.
Among the local questions before Dade County voters are two separate one-cent sales-tax proposals.
Voters will decide on a Floating Local Option Sales Tax, or FLOST, which is designed to provide property-tax relief by shifting a portion of city and county government revenue to a sales tax.
A separate Transportation Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax, or TSPLOST, is also on the ballot. Revenue from that proposal would be dedicated to transportation needs, including road paving and other transportation improvements.
The two proposals are separate ballot questions, and voters will decide each individually.
The strong opening-day turnout comes with nearly three weeks of advance voting remaining.
Georgia voters can check their registration information, view sample ballots and find voting information through the state’s official My Voter Page.
Election Day is Tuesday, November 3.
