Rep. Mike Cameron Appointed to Georgia Commission on Interstate Cooperation

State Representative Mike Cameron (R-Rossville) today was appointed to the Georgia Commission on Interstate Cooperation. Rep. Cameron’s commission term will run concurrently with the 2023-2024 legislative term of the Georgia General Assembly.

“I want to thank Speaker Burns for allowing me to serve Georgians in this new capacity,” said Rep. Cameron. “Georgia’s prosperity thrives on strong, deeply rooted relationships with other states, especially our southern neighbors. By fostering unity and working together on new policies, we can forge a path toward a brighter future for our state and its people.”

The Georgia Commission on Interstate Cooperation is responsible for carrying forward Georgia’s participation as a member of any regional, national or international nonpartisan legislative organization that promotes interstate or international cooperation.

This commission also works to encourage and assist the legislative, executive, administrative and judicial officials and employees of Georgia to develop and maintain friendly contact with officials from other states and the federal government.

Finally, this state commission formulates proposals to create interstate compacts; enact uniform or reciprocal statutes, administrative rules and regulations; foster cooperation of governmental officials and employees; and exchange research and information.
