Originally from Deemer, MS; Don Gross is most known in Trenton for being the quick-witted long-time owner/operator of Gross Furniture. A business which survives him in operation by his two sons.

Gross was also a founding member of the Trenton Fire Department, where he served as Assistant Chief for many years. In 2021, Gross retired as Chairman of the Board from his 44-year service on the Board of Directors of the Bank of Dade. He also served on the Trenton City Council.

According to his obituary; “Left to cherish his memory his loving wife of 68 years, Ruth Wilson Gross; children, Gary (Suzan) Gross and Stan (Benita) Gross; grandchildren; Kyle (Courtney) Gross, Reed (Starla) Gross, Brandi (Tanner) Clark and Holly (Brandon) Whetzell; and great-grandchildren, Kaylee Clark, Adilynn Gross, Trever Gross, Collins Clark, Chandler Gross and Tucker Gross.”

Gross, a legend in Trenton, will be missed.
