The collaboration between agencies demonstrated the effective communication and coordination crucial in ensuring public safety.The pursuit unfolded on Interstate 59, with the suspect’s vehicle weaving through traffic. Recognizing the need for strategic intervention, the Trenton City Police Department positioned themselves north of the Trenton exit on the interstate. In a calculated move, a Trenton City Detective deployed spike strips, effectively incapacitating the suspect’s vehicle and bringing the pursuit to a controlled stop.The male driver, now in custody, is facing numerous charges in Georgia related to the felony pursuit and additional charges in Alabama. The successful operation showcased the dedication and professionalism of the Dade County Deputies, Fort Payne PD, DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office, and the Trenton City Police Department.Sheriff Ray Cross expressed his pride in the collaborative efforts, stating, “This is just another example of Dade County Law Enforcement working with multiple agencies across state lines. Most criminals know better than to flee through Dade County, because the chase seldom makes it out of our jurisdiction.
