Get ready to tune in on September 21, 2024! Our very own play-by-play man in Basketball and Softball, and color commentator for Football Grant Moore is gearing up to do his first college game at Reinhardt University. Grant started play-by-play in high school when he took over doing the basketball games his junior year and returned to do them again his senior year. Before he joined the KWN crew, Grant had been doing public address announcing for the Rec League Football. Grant then joined the KWN crew in late 2022 and has been with us since. His first radio broadcast was in 2023 when he was offered the opportunity to do the region tournament for basketball, and later joined the boys’ basketball team for their state game that year.
Grant then joined Walley Grasham for his first full season of football, and Walley’s second. The pair called 14 games total in 2023 doing 12 for Dade County and two for North Sand Mountain. Grant also squeezed in some softball games, joining the softball team during their super-regional games and down in Columbus for state. Grant would then go on to do three Basketball tournaments after the Football season ended. Grant would call the “Sand Mountain Tournament” showing up for North Sand Mountain and joining North Sand again in the “Jackson County Tournament.” Grant would then go on to call the D1 7-A region basketball tournament for a second year. He joined the Lady Wolverines in their state game against St. Francis. Grant also called one Chattanooga State Basketball game.
Grant is entering his second season of Football color commentary. He will also be going into his fourth year of basketball play-by-play. Grant hopes to do a second year of Softball as well. The Reinhardt Eagles will be playing the UC Patriots at home. Reinhardt is projected to be in the top 25 all year.
