**UPDATE** Deadly Single-Car Crash Takes Life of Dade County Resident

A single-car accident has left Dade County without one of its finer residents. Bobby Brown, husband of Ann Brown and long-time member of the community passed away. Brown was driving a van down back valley road at the foot of sand mountain carrying several animal companions for the Tri-State Humane Society, the foundation his wife manages, when his vehicle left the road and struck a tree.

Information on the funeral has yet to be made public.

Bobby Wayne Brown, 72, of Trenton passed away Monday, August 8, 2022. He was born May 6, 1950 to the late Jack and Mattie Brown. Bobby was a loving and caring man that loved his family and all his dogs. His passion and involvement in the Tri-State Humane Society will surely be missed. He loved to fish and was a huge Alabama football fan.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Phyllis Walker.

Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife, Ann Brown; daughter Sherri (Scott Bard) Goggin of Athens, GA; step-son Brian McMahan; step-daughter Rachel Troxtel; grandchildren Tom, Kate, Will, Mary, and Sam Goggin of Athens, GA.; Reece McMahan and Jaxx McMahan of Trenton, GA.; Ashley Troxtel (Brian Anderson), Braylie Troxtel of Chattanooga, TN; Raven Jackson, Braden Greenle, Ko Daniels; sisters, Jackie (Earl) Bryant, Section, AL., Libby (Lon) Eriks, Rainsville, AL., Donna (Pete) Russell, Rainsville, AL.; several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be held at Moore Funeral Home in Trenton, GA on Thursday, August 11, 2022 at 1:00 PM ET with Brother Hutch Garmany and Lewis Wheeler officiating, after which he will be cremated.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM and Thursday 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM ET at the funeral home.
