The DMS Cross Country team demonstrated notable performance during the NGAC Jamboree held at Heritage Middle School on Monday. In a competitive event involving participants from 10 schools, both male and female runners from the Wolverine and Lady Wolverine squads achieved commendable placements in the 2-mile run. Enthusiasts are encouraged to attend the upcoming CC team event scheduled for Tuesday, August 29, at Heritage, and mark their calendars for a home meet on September 12 at Dade Middle School.
Among the participants, several runners secured positions within the top 30 in their respective categories:
For the boys:
- Peyton Harris (8th Grade) claimed the 4th position with a time of 13:45.
- Gage Castleberry (6th Grade) secured the 7th place with a time of 13:51.
- Greyson Stinnett (8th Grade) achieved the 20th position, completing the race in 15:03.
For the girls:
- Kailey Pardue (8th Grade) stood out with a strong 2nd place finish, clocking in at 15:20.
- Sydney Warnock (8th Grade) achieved the 4th position by completing the race in 15:56.
- Kadence Castleberry (8th Grade) earned the 11th position, with a time of 17:17.
- Anniston Thompson (6th Grade) secured the 21st position with a time of 21:20.
- Hazel Grace Taylor (7th Grade) completed the list by securing the 27th position with a time of 22:12.
