DCHS Chorus Spring 2022 to Festival Disney where they received a Superior rating and won Best in Class winning 1st place amongst all AA schools.

We are pleased to announce our Dade County High School singers have been invited to perform as part of Nationals for Top Choirs and Carnegie Hall in New York City through Choirs of America.  This is an incredible opportunity for our students to showcase their musical talents and represent Dade County on the national stage.

In March 2023, Dade County Chorus received a personal invitation to perform as part of this prestigious event. This involves an adjudicated performance and one hour workshop with some of the top choral conductors in the country at Queens college. On the second day, our students would perform as part of a mass choir on the main stage of Carnegie Hall under the instruction of Maestro Rollo Dilworth and sing a world premiere piece written specifically for this event by Dr. Rosephanye Powell.

The trip will be April 3-8, 2024. In addition to Carnegie Hall, students will also get to tour many historically significant buildings and sites such as Central Park, the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, the 9/11 Memorial, Rockefeller Center, and attend a Broadway show.

The mission of Choirs of America is “to engage, inspire, and educate choirs” from across the country by bringing them in contact with the finest conductors, composers, and educators in the industry. Each event is grounded in collaboration. Each program emphasizes high level educational adjudications, full one-hour clinics, and amazing performance opportunities with collaborative interaction alongside other choirs and teaching artists. Specially selected, nationally recognized adjudicators provide detailed, positive feedback to all ensembles through written and recorded comments, as well as personalized clinics following concert performances.

This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to perform our Dade County High School chorus students to perform on what could be described as America’s most famous stage. We need your support in our fundraising efforts throughout the school year to make this trip possible. Dade County Chorus is actively seeking community partners and sponsorships to provide our students with this amazing opportunity!
