It appears false documents are circulating in the state of Georgia regarding notice of property tax fees. Several residents across the state have already received these papers in the mail asking for a $95 fee. Residents are encouraged to verify through the Dade County Commissioner’s Office (706) 657-4625 or the Dade County Tax Assessor’s Office (706) 657-6341, before responding to these notices. Be aware the documents do not have any type of State or Official Seal.
The Dade County Sheriff’s Office responded by saying “Dade County nor the State of Georgia has issued any letters like this.”
