City of Trenton in Mourning After Loss of Employee Due to COVID-19

The City of Trenton is morning the loss of one of their employees from COVID-19.  Mike Poss was a member of the City Road Dept. passed away this weekend due to COVID-19. Street Commissioner Monda Wooten made the following statement: “Our city has suffered a great loss with the passing of our Street Department employee Mike Poss. He will be greatly missed and always remembered for his immeasurable contribution to our city; with his hard work ethic, knowledge of knowing how to repair anything, and his keen sense of humor and the pride he always took in sharing stories about his boys.” Mike was from Bryant AL. His funeral arrangements are below.

 

BRYANT, AL: Michael “Mike” Poss, age 51, passed peacefully on Saturday, August 28, 2021 after losing his battle to COVID-19. Mike was a Trenton City employee who worked for the street department. He was happily married to Misty Lawson Poss for 17 years and a devoted father to two boys.

Mike was considered a “jack of all trades”. He loved to work with his hands and would build smokers and even add his own additions to his house. He was always willing to help others however he could, especially when it came to help the schools and kids within the community. Mike was just a fun-loving person to be around and will be missed by many.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jerry and Rosemary Poss, and sister Catherine Poss.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Misty Poss; sons, Michael Scott Poss Jr. and Mason Scott Poss; sisters, Rosie Grewer, Sue Love, Tammy Reed and Toni Chisholm; brothers, Jerry, Tim and Dave Poss; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

Friends and family are invited to celebrate Mike’s life at Moore Funeral Home in Bryant, AL. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 4, 2021 at 10:00 AM CDT. Visitation will be Friday, September 3, 2021 from 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM CDT.

Due to the recent COVID outbreak, masks are respectfully requested if attending the visitation and/or funeral service.
