City Commissioners are considering distilled liquor sales on Sunday, Mayor Case says the Liquor Stores are struggling without the Sunday sales

Mayor Alex Case addressed the City Commission regarding a request made back in December by Vic Barot of Vic’s Wine and Spirits and Sam Patel of Trenton Liquors. Barot and Patel came to the meeting to ask about the possibility of being able to sell liquor on Sundays due to Christmas and New Year’s falling on Sunday in 2023. At the time they were asking for just the holidays. Case said the store owners would like to request Sunday liquor sales for every Sunday. Case said the stores were struggling without the Sunday sales and people could just go up the road to purchase liquor on Sundays. Case asked Commissioners to think about and speak with the taxpayers and if they decide to move forward then the city would start working with the attorneys on changing the ordinance.
