A New Activity at Jenkins Park Is On Its Way

Mindy Haworth, Manager of the Dade County Public Library, presented information on the Story Walk project she has been working on. A Story Walk is made up of displays along a trail or path that present a picture book from beginning to end by following the displays in order. Haworth has obtained funding for a Story Walk in Trenton through grant funding, money from Alliance for Dade, and other donations and has begun working with a company that handles the copyrights for the Story and layout. Each Story costs $750 to purchase and produce for the Story Walk and Haworth has enough funding to purchase three to start off with. The stories can be changed out and reused. City Commissioners gave Haworth the go ahead to continue working on the project for future installation. Haworth hopes to add additional Story Walks in the community in the future.
