The Atlanta Braves will look to finish their Labor Day weekend in Philadelphia with a series victory when they face the Phillies Monday afternoon.
Atlanta enters the finale with an 85-58 record after rallying for a dramatic 5-4 victory Sunday. The Braves trailed 4-1 in the eighth before Ronald Acuña Jr. delivered a game-tying three-run home run, with Atlanta eventually taking the lead in the ninth. The victory gave the Braves a 2-1 advantage in the four-game series.
The win also strengthened Atlanta’s position atop the National League East. The Braves enter Monday five games ahead of the 80-63 Phillies with the regular season moving into its final weeks.
Grant Holmes is scheduled to take the mound for Atlanta, while Philadelphia will counter with left-hander Jesús Luzardo. Holmes enters at 9-5 with a 3.62 ERA, while Luzardo is 13-5 with a 3.02 ERA.
First pitch from Citizens Bank Park is scheduled for 1:05 p.m.
