Advance Voting Begins Monday for Special Runoff Elections in Dade County, Northwest Georgia

Advance voting is set to begin Monday, March 30, in Dade County and across Northwest Georgia ahead of the upcoming special runoff election on Tuesday, April 7, 2026.

Georgia voters will decide two key races during the runoff — the U.S. House District 14 seat and the Georgia State Senate District 53 seat.

Early voting will run March 30 through Thursday, April 2, with no weekend voting and no voting on Friday, April 3, due to Good Friday.

Who’s on the Ballot

For the U.S. House District 14 race, voters will choose between:

  • Democrat Shawn Harris
  • Republican Clay Fuller, who received an endorsement from President Donald Trump

The winner will fill the currently vacant seat previously held by Marjorie Taylor Greene and will be required to run again in the next regular election cycle.

For the Georgia State Senate District 53 race, voters will choose between:

  • Democrat Jack Zibluk
  • Republican Lanny Thomas

Both runoff races were triggered after no candidate received more than 50 percent of the vote in the March 10 special election.

Local Voting Information

In Dade County, advance voting will take place at the Elections and Registration Office inside the Dade County Administrative Building in Trenton open 9AM to 5PM.

Election officials encourage residents to vote early to avoid lines and ensure their voices are heard.

Polls on Election Day, April 7, will be open from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. across all precincts.
