Heads up, drivers — a temporary road closure is coming to Cummings Highway in Marion County.

On Monday, July 14th, from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. Central Time, the Tennessee Department of Transportation will close SR 2 (U.S. 41), also known as Cummings Highway, between Raccoon Mountain Road and Holder Lane to replace a drainpipe under the roadway.

Detours will be in place, and uniformed officers will assist with traffic control. Drivers are urged to expect delays, use caution in the area, and plan alternate routes.

This work is weather-dependent and could be rescheduled if needed.

Remember — check the TDOT SmartWay Map or call 511 before you go. And don’t forget: Tennessee’s Move Over Law protects road workers and first responders — violators face fines up to $500 and 30 days in jail.
