This contest is open to all 4-H’ers, Kindergarten through 12th grade, and only one submission is allowed per 4-H’er. All weights must be measured and verified by the County Extension Office and are due in Event Registration by Wednesday, July 30, 2025.
This year’s results will be announced on Monday, August 4, 2025, just after National Watermelon Day.
Awards will be given to the top three submissions as follows. Photos are required for the top three awards.
1st Place $100.00
2nd Place $50.00
3rd Place $25.00
The Carolina Cross variety is suggested but not required for this competition. Seeds may be available locally or online (http://www.giantwatermelons.com). `
