Senator Jeff Mullis Intersection in Walker County Honors Long-Serving Senator

The State of Georgia held a dedication ceremony after a bill was passed to dedicate a Walker County intersection in honor of Senator Jeff Mullis, dubbed “Senator Jeff Mullis Intersection.”

The intersection, where State Route 341 meets Lee Clarkson Road will be known as the Senator Jeff Mullis Intersection to recognized the storied career of the senator who did not seek re-election this term.

Senator Mullis was first elected to the Georgia State Senate to serve District 53 in 2000 and has served as the longest sitting Republican since.

Mullis was born and raised in Chickamauga, where he served as Fire Chief, in economic development on the Northwest Joint Development Authority, and as chairman of the Senate Rules Committee and Economic Development Subcommittee of Senate Appropriations.

Mullis has been recognized as one of the Top 100 Most influential Georgians by Georgia Trend and James Magazine for six and eight years, respectively.
