The Eagles Rolling Out A Trio Of Vinyl Reissues On Friday

Coming from the Eagles on Friday (April 2nd) are a trio of double-vinyl releases — 1980’s Eagles Live, 2007’s Long Road Out Of Eden, and the standalone vinyl debut of 2000's The Millennium Concert.

The album, which was only available as part of the 2018 Eagles Legacy vinyl box, was culled from the band’s decade-ending shows in L.A. and Las Vegas. The set marks the final performances by guitarist Don Felder prior to being forced out of the band.

Don Felder told us that when at its best, the chemistry of the Eagles in full force was something to be reckoned with: ["Despite the friction and tension and arguing and kind of tug of war daily that went on there; the end product was really amazing work of really an amazing caliber that we all pulled from our individual strengths. Whether it was lyrics, vocals, or guitar parts, or track writing. And the combination of everyone's strengths really produced some phenomenal work."] SOUNDCUE (:23 OC: . . . some phenomenal work)

Bassist Timothy B. Schmit was the last official Eagle to join the band after the release of the 1976 blockbuster Hotel California and before the sessions for 1979's The Long Run. Schmit told us he knew he was just the player the group needed following Randy Meisner's defection in late-1977: ["A really great thing that happened when Glenn first called me and then it all unfolded when I said, 'Yes, I want to do this' was that they asked me to join before we played one note of Eagles music together. I was the one they wanted and it seemed like a really perfect fit to me. It just did — I'm not blowin' my own horn. But it was obviously a great thing for me, but I really knew that I was the perfect guy to go there. I knew how to do what they wanted me to do."] SOUNDCUE (:31 OC: . . . wanted me to do)
