Coming on May 28th is a new David Bowie collection, titled The Width Of A Circle, according to Rolling Stone. The new double-disc features a string of non-LP singles, alternate versions, and unreleased 1970 John Peel BBC sessions recorded on February 5th, 1970.
Also included on The Width Of A Circle are Bowie and his then-backing band the Hype on the BBC in March of '70 tackling the album's title track and the Velvet Underground standard, “I'm Waiting For The Man,” among others. A highlight on the new package includes, “Bowie’s five-song score for the BBC drama Pierrot In Turquoise a.k.a The Looking Glass Murders, which featured Bowie in the role of a pantomime.”
Not long before his death, David Bowie admitted that he had kept himself sheltered from how his various labels have revamped and repackaged his older material over the decades: “I gotta say, I've got blinkers on for all that. I just try so hard to stay in the moment. It's quite easy to do — I'm quite good at ignoring things.”
