  • Eddie Money's family has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the University of Southern California's Keck Hospital, citing medical malpractice. Money, who was 70, died of cancer on September 13th, 2019 while being treated at the facility. Money had been diagnosed with stage 4 esophageal cancer, with his official cause of death attributed to complications from then-recent heart surgery.
  • Billboard reported that the suit filed last Monday in Los Angeles County Superior Court, claims that during the singer's stay for a heart ailment and assorted other conditions, the hospital staff “negligently, recklessly and carelessly examined, diagnosed Money's condition,” which led to his “untimely and unnecessary death.”
    • Following his discharge, allegedly due to the insufficient care he received, Money ran a fever, suffered from infections, and had to readmitted to the hospital. The Money family is seeking loss of earnings, medical expenses, and other damages. (Billboard)
  • The Grateful Dead has just premiered the first official video for its 1970 American Beauty favorite, “Ripple.” The Jerry Garcia / Robert Hunter evergreen has been newly animated by Actuality Films, with the video bringing a Tarot card reading to life “as it tells the story of The Fool crossing paths with The Muse, The Magician and The Devil.” The video also conceals a myriad of Easter eggs drawn from the Dead lyrics and history.
