Elton John revealed that he's teamed up with Metallica for an unspecified, collaboration, according to Ultimate Classic Rock. Elton spoke about his recent recording plans while chatting on his Apple Music 1 show Rocket Hour, revealing, “I've just done something with Metallica. During this lockdown period. I've been working with Gorillaz and people like that. I haven't been doing any Elton stuff, but I've been doing great stuff with other people.”
Elton recently contributed piano to Miley Cyrus' new version of “Nothing Else Matters,” which will be featured on her album of Metallica covers. Last year, Elton appeared on the title track to Ozzy Osbourne‘s latest album, Ordinary Man.
There are few artists to have had as celebrated a career as Elton John. Despite that, he maintains that it's what's still to come that gives him the most excitement and pleasure regarding his work: “It's lovely to go and to look back, but I'm a person who looks forward; I'm more interested in what's going to happen next. I value the past and my career, and sometimes when I go back, I think, 'Oh, that's not band, that's pretty good' — but I'm all about what's going to happen next. That keeps me on my toes and it keeps me young. It's always about tomorrow and not the past.”
