In northeast Georgia, Banks, Towns and White. In northwest Georgia, Bartow, Catoosa, Chattooga, Dade, Floyd, Gordon, Murray, Polk, Walker and Whitfield.

    IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.

    ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Repeated rounds of rainfall along a stalled frontal boundary are likely through late week. An anomalously moist environment over Georgia will support high rain rates and increased chances for flash flooding. Widespread rainfall of 2 to 4 inches will be possible with locally higher amounts of 5 inches or more. Urban areas, and areas with poor drainage, will be the most susceptible to flash flooding.

December 20, 1967 — April 10, 2025

William Thomas “Will” Free, age 57, of Henagar, Alabama, passed away on April 10, 2025. Born on December 20, 1967, Will lived a simple and meaningful life rooted in love for family, nature, and music.

He found joy in the outdoors—whether hunting, fishing, or just soaking in the quiet beauty of the world around him. Will was also a gifted guitar player, often filling the air with music that reflected his easygoing spirit and deep appreciation for life’s simple pleasures.

Will cherished the time spent with those he loved. He is survived by his son, Dewayne (Lindy) Free; brothers, Robert Cooper and Lyvon Free; and grandson, Samuel Free. He also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Joyce Free; his mother, Mildred Bryant; his father, Gene Cooper; and his brother, Michael Edward Cooper.

The family will gather for a private celebration of life on May 10, 2025, to honor Will’s memory and the quiet strength and love he shared with those around him.

Will’s presence in the lives of those who knew him was a steady and comforting one, and his memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
