Trenton Woman Arrested for Vehicle Theft in Jackson County, Faces Felony Drug Charges in Dade County

On Saturday, February 19, Marion County Sheriff Department, along with New Hope Police Department, and agents of the 12th Judicial Drug and Violent Crimes Task Force were led on a high speed pursuit for ‘several miles and across multiple counties.’

The chase began with a traffic stop that was attempting to recover a stolen 1996 Chevrolet 1500 pickup that was reported stolen the previous day from Collins’ Building Material in Jasper. The truck was spotted by an off-duty Marion County Sheriff Detective, who called 911; triggering the traffic stop.

Christy Lee Shrader (48, of Trenton), was taken into custody in Jackson County, Alabama and taken to Jackson County Jail. There, she will be awaiting extradition to Marion County. Shrader will also be transported to Dade County where she is wanted on Felony Drug charges. The stolen vehicle was returned to the owner with minor damages.
