During the December meeting of the Trenton City Council, Mayor Alex Case announced that the City of Trenton will be starting Phase One of the new sewage plant project. According to Case, the City priced the project in August of this year for $1,784,211. Case stated he has applied for State grants, but “has not heard back from them yet.” Case follows up that if the City gets the second round of (governmental) funding, they should be able to finish the entire project.

The City also approved SPLOST funds for roughly $41,000 for a 2022 F150 for the Fire Chief, and Mayor Case reminded the public that the government purchases new vehicles to “ensure the safety” of governmental employees, while also saving costs from repairs and insurance for the older vehicles. Also approved were two new police radars totaling $3,190.

William Back of the Industrial Development Authority announced that a small electrical generation company called “Belt Line Energy” is beginning operations in Trenton. Over the next 30 years, they will invest $2.1 million into the community.
