Trenton City Police Chief Steve Beaudoin has been demoted.

City Police Commissioner Kirk Forshee confirmed that the change was made with Beaudoin earlier this week and that he was placed back on patrol. The 32-year veteran to the Trenton City Police Department was unanimously approve to be the Police Chief by the Trenton City Council back in December of 2020.

Police Commissioner Forshee said that Beaudoin was demoted for inadequate job performance. He provided no additional information. At this time, no interim chief has been named. Commissioner Forshee went on to say that if anyone has any administrative matters that need to be dealt with at the City Police Department, they are free to reach out directly to him.
