Storm Damage Reported Across Tennessee Valley; No Injuries Reported

TRENTON, Ga. — Strong thunderstorms moved across the Tennessee Valley Monday afternoon and evening, leaving behind scattered storm damage and power outages across parts of Alabama, Georgia, and Tennessee.

Reports of downed trees, power lines, and storm-related damage were received in several communities as severe weather swept through the region. Utility outages were reported in Jackson and DeKalb counties in Alabama, as well as Dade, Walker, Catoosa, and Whitfield counties in Georgia and Marion and Hamilton counties in Tennessee.

The National Weather Service issued multiple Tornado Warnings during the event, including warnings affecting portions of Dade and Walker counties in Georgia and Jackson and DeKalb counties in Alabama. The Emergency Alert System (EAS) was activated on K-WIN Radio to provide listeners with immediate warning information as the storms moved through the area.

Emergency management officials and utility crews are continuing to assess damage and restore power to affected customers.

As of this time, no injuries have been reported as a result of the storms.

Residents are encouraged to use caution around downed trees and power lines and to report outages directly to their utility provider. Additional storms remain possible as weather conditions continue to be monitored across the Tennessee Valley.
