Quick Action by Dade County Firefighters Contain Fire to One End of a Structure During Busy Weekend

SHARE NOW

It was a busy weekend for Dade County area firefighters, as volunteers responded to several locations to combat structure fires. Luckily, there were no serious injuries or casualties at any locations: 2901 Murphy Hollow Road, 90 Swift Lane, and an out-building on Gass Road off Highway 136.

At one of the affected locations, a trailer on Murphy Hollow Road Trenton-Dade County Fire’s Facebook page was able to provide photographs of the dangerous scene. The fire department, along with North Dade, New Home, and Davis fire departments responded quickly around 2:45 on Sunday and were able to contain the fire to one end of the structure. Photos included below:

The youth volunteer’s involved in Dade County’s “Explorer’s Program” were also on the scene. Reportedly, the kids involved were unafraid of the tasks provided to them and worked diligently to aid the crews on the scene.

According to weather services, the dry air will continue, so it is advised that the public continue to be careful and avoid hazardous, possibly fire-starting activities.
