Qualifying for the upcoming general elections is well underway. On Tuesday, it was made known that Representative Mike Cameron (below) qualified as incumbent for the District 1 State Representative seat. So far, Cameron is the only candidate running for the seat.
The Mountain Valley Independent will continue to update you as further candidates qualifying for the various races. Qualifying ends on Friday, March 11, at Noon.
The following qualifications were announced after Monday:
For the Senatorial election for District 53, two candidates already have stepped forward for the seat; Steven M. Henry of Ringgold, who stepped down from his position as the Chairman of the Catoosa County Board of Commissioners to run; and Colton Moore of Trenton, who previously failed to unseat Mullis two years ago.
Within Dade County, the qualifying candidates are as follows: For the District 1 Commission seat – Incumbent Lamar Lowery, and Chris Wade , Patrick Hickey for the District 2 Commission seat held by Phillip Hartline, and Daniel Case, incumbent for the District 1 School Board seat.
