During the National Police Week’s Memorial Service at the U.S. Capitol, on October 16th, Lt. Greg Cochran of Hall County accepted the Medal of Honor on behalf of the Walker County Sheriff’s Office.
On October 27th, Lt. Cochran presented the medals to Mrs. Sherry Lake Street and Jordan Powell, wife and daughter of the late Sheriff Philip Street. Street passed on November 27th, 2020 due to complications of the COVID-19 virus. Captain Street was a law enforcement veteran for 30 years; having served as Dade County Sheriff for 20 years before moving to Walker County.
