Deputy Clerk Jeremy Christopher was appointed Associate Judge of the Dade County Probate Court by Probate Judge Kerri B. Carter. Judge Carter gained approval for the appointment by the Dade County Board of Commission and Associate Judge Christopher was sworn in October 24, 2023 with his wife, Melissa, by his side as his family looked on.
This appointment provides for emergency and succession planning for the Probate Court to ensure the community is protected and court services continue without interruption in the event Judge Carter is incapacitated or simply unavailable. “This appointment provides for efficiency and continuity of essential services for the citizens of Dade County.” Judge Carter said.
Judge Christopher has proved an asset to the office and the court during his tenure. He has participated in the Georgia Probate Court Judge and Clerk trainings and will continue with these professional development courses on a variety of topics and skills such as estates, criminal and civil procedure, adult and minor guardianships and conservatorships, legal updates and the history, jurisdiction, and powers of the Probate Court and leadership development. He will also attend an extensive New Judges’ Training in 2024
