State Senator Jeff Mullis introduced legislation earlier this year that would designate the interchange of State Route 299 and U.S. Highway 11 in the honor of Sheriff Philip Street. Street was Dade County Sheriff from 1984 to 2004, and the memorial is to honor the memory of his long public service to the people of Dade County and Northwest Georgia.
The ceremony will be held on Monday, August 9th at 11 AM. Friends and members of the community are invited to attend. Organizers have asked that the public park at the Wildwood Lifestyle Center (435 Lifestyle Ln) parking lot by 10:45 and transportation will be provided to the intersection.
