Ider Woman Killed in Two Car Wreck in DeKalb County

Ginger McBride of Ider was killed in a two-vehicle wreck early Friday morning in DeKalb County.

Just before 5am, McBride’s vehicle collided head-on with Robert Bell of Chattanooga who was driving a tractor-trailer. McBride was pronounced dead on the scene and her 17-year-old passenger was also injured and taken to a local hospital for treatment. Bell was transported to the DeKalb Regional Medical Center for treatment. Officials say the crash happened on Alabama 75 two miles north of Cartersville. Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Highway Patrol Division are continuing to investigate.

McBride owned a local bookstore in Trenton. According to the McBride’s Bookstore Facebook Page, there are plans to continue to keep the store open in her honor.
