With this week’s elections in the books, the eyes turn to 2022. The first person to announce his candidacy for the District 1 County Commissioner position (encompassing north of the Bank of Dade to the Tennessee line), has come forward with the following statement:

My name is Patrick Hickey and I’m announcing that I will be running for District 1 County Commissioner in the 2022 election. I live in the New England area of Dade with my wife Selina, daughter Scarlett and son Cooper. We have been residents of Dade County for over 6 years. Our daughter is currently a student in the elementary school and our son will be attending as well when he is older. I work full time for Fedex in Chattanooga and also volunteer as a firefighter in the Davis community. I ran for this seat 4 years ago with a mission to serve and represent the community in Dade county and that mission is still a top priority in my book even after falling short in the 2018 election, but that loss won’t keep me from fighting to represent everyone equally and fairly in Dade County. I still have a lot of fight, determination and ideas to bring to Dade County and I hope you’ll see that in me this time around. While nothing is official until spring of 2022, I wanted to let you know that there is someone out there who will represent District 1 and the whole county with the residents coming first and politics dead last. If you need to get in touch with me, my email is [email protected].

Patrick Hickey will be running in the Republican Primary in May, 2022. Updates from the campaign can be found on the facebook page: Patrick Hickey for District 1 Commissioner”
