According to Carey Anderson; leveling and paving on Hales Gap Road started this week (weather permitting). The project is set to be completed before December 1st. Some information on the project:
* Paving (from Murphy Hollow Road up the mountain) will be paved with extra granite blend for anti-skid protection.
* As soon as paving is complete temporary stripes will be added with permanent stripes being added approximately 15-30 days after.
* The permanent lines will be thermoplastic, high visibility lines with raised pavement markers.
Secondly; Dade County Emergency Management announced that concrete is being poured today at Storm Shelter Number 1 at the Dade County Sports Complex.
