Former Dade Student Perishes in Sunday Night Automobile Accident on I-24

A former Dade County High School student, Carson Jackson Buckner, 19, perished in an automobile accident Sunday night, according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol.

 

The accident occurred near the South Pittsburg exit, Sunday night at about 10:30 ET. According to THP, the vehicle which he was driving, a Nissan, veered off the side of the interstate, crossing the median, striking a tractor trailer head-on.

Buckner was transported to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The driver of the tractor trailer has been identified as Alfred Wilson, 65 year old who was also injured and transferred to hospital.

The accident shut down I-24 for a number of hours and did not re-open until late Monday morning.
