As, early voting for Dade County and Trenton City residents enters its second week, turnout has been astoundingly low.

Lowanna Vaughn of the Dade County Board of Elections and Registration reported that after Saturday’s voting, there had been a total of 86 votes cast in the entire county (including city voters) and a total of 4 requested absentee ballots (zero have been cast).

The polls were open for 8 hours this Saturday, the 16th– during which time one single vote was cast.

Total City Voters: 26

Total County Voters: 63

As a reminder:

Advanced voting times are now 9:00-5:00 Monday through Friday with 2 Saturday opportunities (also between 9-5) starting Saturday, the 16th. Voting for both elections is being held at 71 Case Avenue, Trenton.

All registered voters in the County may vote in the special called election for the District 4 seat; and if you are registered in the city, you may vote for both races. Attached is a preview of the questions on the ballot. If you are voting in either election, bring your registered ID.
