District Attorney Clayton M. Fuller fulfilled an active-duty
military deployment with the United States Air Force and resumed his role as District Attorney of the
Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit. DA Fuller deployed for six months from 3 May 2024 to 30 October
2024 as a legal advisor to military operations in the Middle East in support of the United States Central
Command. He was deployed to both Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar and Shaw Air Force Base in Sumter,
South Carolina.
During that time period Chief Assistant District Attorney Kevin Baugh served as Designated
Acting District Attorney of the Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit.
“I cannot thank Kevin and the team enough for the incredible work they did while I was gone
keeping the community safe and supporting our law enforcement partners,” said DA Fuller, “I missed
my family and the DA’s office team, but it was an honor to serve my country and support our efforts to
stabilize the Middle East during historic uncertainty and conflict in the region.”
DA Fuller is a fourteen-year veteran of the United States Air Force and Georgia Air National
Guard and promoted during the deployment to lieutenant colonel. During the deployment, DA Fuller
was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal and the Global War on Terror Expeditionary Medal for his
efforts. He has served in the White House and at the Pentagon where he earned the Office of the
Secretary of Defense’s Award for Outstanding Achievement for work performed in counterterrorism.
