A Message about Dade Schools from Superindent Josh Ingle
Dear Dade County Families,
The majority of the roads in Dade County are clear and passable. However, there are a few outlying areas that still have snow cover. As a result, Dade County Schools will operate on a two-hour delay on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, under the following conditions.
For students living on Sand Mountain in the New Home Community and on the following roads (Liderman Road, Scratch Ankle Road, Stallings Road, Tram Road, and Walls Circle), please plan to meet bus 22-1 or 22-3 at the New Home Fire Hall between 8:30 a.m. and 8:45 a.m. Afternoon drop-off will be at the same location between 3:45 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.
For students who live on Lookout Mountain in the Head River and New Salem Communities and ride bus 22-2 or 19-3, please plan to meet the bus at the New Salem Community Center between 8:50 a.m. and 9:05 a.m. Afternoon drop-off will be at the same location between 3:45 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.
For students living in any of the communities mentioned above who cannot make it due to road conditions, please contact your school principal so that the absence can be excused.
Other regular bus routes will continue as normal on a two-hour delay schedule.
If there are any changes to the two-hour delay schedule, we will communicate that information early Tuesday morning.
Thank you for your understanding and flexibility as we work towards returning to school operations.
Sincerely,
Josh Ingle
Superintendent
Dade County Schools
