Dade County Public Library and Industrial Development Authority Launch Career Center with Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

Dade County, GA The Dade County Public Library, in partnership with the Dade County Industrial Development Authority (IDA) and the Cherokee Regional Library System, proudly announces the grand opening of the new Career Center, marked by an official ribbon cutting ceremony on Monday, April 20th at 10:00 a.m. at the Dade County Public Library.

This new Career Center represents the first step in a broader, long term community partnership focused on strengthening the local workforce, supporting economic development, and creating expanded opportunities for residents across Dade County.

The collaboration between the Library and the IDA brings valuable resources directly to the community, offering residents access to job search assistance, career development tools, and information designed to support long term professional growth, all in a convenient, community centered location.

“This Career Center is more than just a new service, it is a commitment to our community’s future,” said Lecia Eubanks, Director of the Cherokee Regional Library System. “By working together with the IDA, we are creating a space where residents can build skills, explore opportunities, and thrive right here in Dade County.”

The initiative highlights the advantages of living and working locally, including shorter commutes, lower cost of living, improved work life balance, strong community connections, and growing economic opportunities. By investing in workforce development at the local level, the partnership aims to help residents succeed without needing to leave the county.

The ribbon cutting ceremony was attended by several local and regional leaders, including County Executive Don Townsend, State Representative Mike Cameron, Cherokee Regional Library System Director Lecia Eubanks, IDA Director Evan Stone, and Northwest Georgia Joint Development Authority Director Matt Harris. They will be joined by members of the Dade County Public Library Board and staff, the IDA Board, and representatives from Alliance for Dade, all of whom have played a role in supporting this initiative.

Officials from the IDA emphasized the importance of this collaboration as a foundation for future efforts.

“This is just the beginning,” said Evan Stone, Director of the Dade County Industrial Development Authority. “Our partnership with the library is a key step in building a stronger workforce, supporting local employers, and ensuring that Dade County continues to grow and prosper.”

The Career Center will serve as a hub for connecting individuals with resources, employers, and training opportunities, while reinforcing the shared goal of keeping talent and opportunity within the community.

Community members, local leaders, and business partners were invited to attend the ribbon cutting ceremony and celebrate this milestone for Dade County.
