Dade County Operations Reopening Update From Executive Townsend

From Executive Townsend:

Dade County Public Works have cleared all County roadways, some are even dry at this point.  Some slick spots remain on mountain roads, but the sunshine is melting much of the ice away.  Private roads and driveways remain covered and slick, so use caution to access county and state roadways.

Therefore, I’m recommending that all Dade County normal operations resume at 9AM Monday morning.  Employees unable to drive from their communities may be excused by their immediate supervisor up until 10AM, but offices shall open by 9AM.

Be aware I see another possibility of frozen precipitation between January 23 – 27th so if this event didn’t satisfy your love for snow/ice then maybe the next one will.

Rome has closed the senior program however public transportation is open to take patients to medical appointments, but they will not be picking up seniors since there’s no activities at the senior center.”

County Executive Townsend extends his gratitude to Dade County EMA, Dade County Sheriff’s Office, The City of Trenton Police Department, E-911 Dispatchers, First Responders, Georgia Power, City of Trenton Public Works, GDOT and our own Public Works department for their tireless work during this latest weather event.
