Dade County Commissioner’s Appoint A District 1 Commissioner To Fill The Unexpired Term Of Lamar Lowery, Dr. William H. (Billy) Pullen, Jr., of Wildwood

At a special called meeting of the County Commission this afternoon (Monday, November 18, 2024) at 2:00 p.m. the Board of Commissioners named Dr. William H. (Billy) Pullen, Jr., of Wildwood, Georgia to fulfill the unexpired term of the District 1 Commissioner’s term currently set to expire December 31, 2026.  We congratulate Dr. Pullen upon accepting this appointment.  Dr. Pullen will be sworn in within the next week by Dade County Probate Judge Kerri Carter

Our condolences affectionately remain for the family of Mr. Lamar Lowery who served multiple terms as District 1 County Commissioner of Dade County, Georgia.  Former Commissioner Lowery died on November 5, 2024 from symptoms related to cancer.  Under the authority of State law and the enabling legislation that formed our county’s governing authority, the Board of Commissioners of Dade County, Georgia, the Commissioners were tasked with the issue of naming Mr. Lowery’s replacement to the County Commission within fifteen days of his death.
