Body Found Between Jackson and Marshall Counties Identified

Local authorities have confirmed that the body found in the river near the border between Jackson and Marshall counties on August 18, 2023, has been identified as 25-year-old Jamari Jajuan Moore, a resident of Scottsboro, Alabama. The circumstances surrounding his death have been classified as a homicide.

The investigation has been undertaken by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office and the Scottsboro Police Department. Their efforts have been supplemented by resources from the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences, the Jackson County District Attorney’s Office, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
