Did you know the Appalachian Mountains are home to some of the greatest salamander diversity in the world? Head to Cloudland Canyon State Park on Monday, August 31, for a fascinating look at some of the region’s most unique forest residents.
A Georgia State Parks Naturalist will lead “Salamander Secrets,” a family-friendly program exploring the hidden lives of these amazing amphibians.
Visitors will learn how to tell the difference between salamanders and lizards, meet five unique Appalachian salamander species, and hear interesting facts and stories about the creatures that call the mountains home.
