Trenton Commissioners to Discuss 2027 Budget, SPLOST and Transportation Taxes Monday

TRENTON, Ga. — The Trenton Board of Commissioners will meet Monday, Aug. 10, with discussions on the city’s 2027 budget, SPLOST-funded capital equipment and transportation sales taxes among the major items on the agenda.

The Board of Commissioners Workshop and Regular Monthly Meeting is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. at Trenton City Hall, 12882 North Main Street.

During the workshop, commissioners are scheduled to discuss SPLOST and capital equipment, along with FLOST and TSPLOST. The board will also begin discussions concerning the city’s 2027 budget.

Other workshop business includes consideration of a proposed new member for the Downtown Development Authority, declaring items surplus for sale through GovDeals, and reappointing Cindy Richie to the Trenton-Dade County Historic Preservation Commission.

During the regular meeting, commissioners will receive departmental reports from the Trenton Police Department, Parks and Recreation, TDAC, Fire and Utilities, Streets Department and Mayor Case.

Several community organizations are also scheduled to appear before commissioners. Lydia Soucy will provide an update from the Dade County Library, Sandy White will represent Alliance for Dade, and Jane Dixon is scheduled to address commissioners concerning Tree City USA.

The agenda also provides time for legal matters, unfinished business and citizen participation. Under new business, commissioners are scheduled to consider action on items discussed during the workshop. An executive session is also listed on the agenda.
