New Tanker Trucks Delivered to South Dade, West Brow, and New Salem Fire Departments
It was an exciting day for three Dade County fire departments as brand-new tanker trucks were officially delivered this past Saturday.
South Dade Fire & Rescue, West Brow Fire & Rescue, and New Salem Fire & Rescue each received new tanker units that will soon be placed into service to better protect their communities.
County Commissioners Bob Woods and Phillip Hartline were on hand for the delivery, showing their support for the departments and the continued investment in public safety.
Fire officials say the new trucks will enhance response capabilities, particularly in rural areas where water supply can be a challenge. Tanker trucks play a critical role in transporting large amounts of water to fire scenes without immediate hydrant access.
Department leaders emphasized that the three new trucks would not have been possible without voter support of SPLOST, which provides funding for capital improvements and public safety equipment across the county.
Officials say they are looking forward to getting the new tankers fully equipped and into service as they continue serving Dade County residents.
