Cigna, CommonSpirit Reach New Agreement; Coverage Continues for Chattanooga-Area Patients
Patients in the Chattanooga region insured through Cigna can breathe a sigh of relief.
Cigna Healthcare and CommonSpirit Health — formerly known locally as CHI Memorial — have reached a new contract agreement, keeping CommonSpirit hospitals and facilities in-network for Cigna members.
Under the new agreement, CommonSpirit facilities will remain in Cigna’s LocalPlus and Open Access Plus networks. The agreement is retroactively in effect as of February 1, 2026.
According to Tennessee Partners for Health, Cigna members can continue using CommonSpirit facilities without disruption. This includes locations in:

Hixson
-
Fort Oglethorpe
The resolution comes after a brief period of uncertainty.
With the new agreement now in place, Cigna members in the Chattanooga and North Georgia region can continue receiving care at CommonSpirit facilities with no interruption in coverage.
